School Board Approves Appointment of Bearcat Growth Committee
The Aledo ISD School Board approved the appointment of the new Bearcat Growth Committee during the Monday, Dec. 17 School Board meeting.
The committee is represented by 38 members that include parents, teachers and members of the community. The purpose of the committee is to represent the Aledo ISD community in the study of data related to enrollment, finances, instructional priorities, and facility needs, and in recommending to the Board of Trustees a bond program to address district-wide facility needs due to growing student enrollment and aging facilities.
Members were chosen by the campuses, School Board and through an application process.
The BGC will have its first meeting on Thursday, Jan. 24. The co-chairs of the committee are Christi James and Jim Scott. Click here to view the approved committee members.
The meetings will provide an opportunity to consider options and structure recommendations to the Board for a potential bond package. The BGC will gather input from students, staff, parents and community members during the process.
