Adding 10 minutes to the end of each instructional day. These 10 minutes per day add up to four instructional days to bank.
Designating recapture days: April 16 and May 17 (bad-weather makeup days); May 28 (teacher work day); and December 18 and May 27 (half days). This adds up to four total instructional days to bank.
Designating recapture days for June 1-4 and June 7-11 that would be used only if absolutely necessary. This is nine total instructional days to extend the school year, if necessary.
The original calendar that was approved contained two banked days, so the new calendar has 10 banked days built into the calendar and nine additional days to extend the school year only if necessary.
The district will communicate to the community as the designated recapture days approach whether or not they will need to be used. Designated recapture days will only be used after the district has exhausted all banked days already built into the calendar minutes (six total days).
