Aledo ISD has named Christina Long as the new head varsity tennis coach at Aledo High School. Long has been the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Aledo High School for the past two years.
Prior to her time in Aledo, Long was the head varsity tennis coach at Benbrook High School in the Fort Worth ISD for a year, and she was an assistant coach at Carroll Senior High School in the Southlake ISD for two years.
“Coach Long has an enormous amount of competitive tennis experience and will help continue the success that our RaquetCats have enjoyed over the years,” Aledo ISD Athletics Director Steve Wood said. “We are excited about her new role and the impact she will have on her student-athletes."
Long competed in tennis at the national and international level throughout her junior career while attending the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in New Braunfels, Texas. She played tennis and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
“I can’t begin to describe my excitement and gratitude for this opportunity, and I am eager to do everything I can to ensure our team achieves excellence on and off the court,” Long said. “We have an exceptional group of athletes, great leadership in the district and even better parents who support us every step of the way. I have no doubt that Aledo is the best place to be, and I am humbled and blessed to be a Bearcat.”
