About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve terms of three years each.  Elections are conducted in May and candidates run for specific Places.

The next Board of Trustees election is scheduled for May 2, 2026.  Places up for election will be Place 6 and Place 7.

Terms and Election Schedule
Board members shall be elected for three-year terms, with elections conducted annually, as follows:

• Places 1, 2 and 3
  • The election for Places 1, 2, and 3 shall be held in 2027, 2030, 2033, and in three-year intervals thereafter.  
• Places 4 and 5
  • The election for Places 4 and 5 shall be held in 2025, 2028, 2031, and in three-year intervals thereafter. 
• Places 6 and 7
  • The election for Places 6 and 7 shall be held in 2026, 2029, 2032, and in three-year intervals thereafter.

Application Process
The filing period for candidates to file an application for a Place on the ballot begins on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and ends at 5:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2026.

All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request. 

Completed forms must be filed in the Aledo ISD Administration Building at 1008 Bailey Ranch Rd, Aledo, TX  76008.  Applications may be emailed to kvanpletsen@aledoisd.org, or faxed to 817-441-5113.  If the application is emailed, or faxed to our office, it must be notarized and received at the office no later than 5:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Important Election Dates

• Wednesday, January 14, 2026 - First day to file an application for a place on the ballot
• Friday, February 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM - Last day to file an application for a place on the ballot
• Monday, April 20, 2026 - First day of early voting by personal appearance
• Tuesday, April 28, 2026 - Last day of early voting by personal appearance

• Saturday, May 2, 2026 - Election Day
