Jim Scott was elected to the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees in 2024 and has lived in the district since 2015. Mr. Scott is a 1998 graduate of Baird Independent School District in Baird, Texas.  After graduating high school, Mr. Scott attended Texas A&M University earning his Bachelors of Science Degree.  Mr. Scott then attended law school at South Texas College of Law Houston where he graduated cum laude in 2006.  Mr. Scott practiced law in Dallas, Texas for Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP (now Foley Lardner LLP) for nine years before moving his practice to Fort Worth with Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP where he is a partner in the trial section. 

Mr. Scott has earned numerous awards and accolades including Top Attorney in Commercial Litigation, Fort Worth Magazine, 2021-2023; Top Attorney in Civil Litigation, 360 West magazine, 2021-2024; Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star, Texas Monthly, 2013-2019; and 40 Under 40 Honoree, Fort Worth Business Press, 2019.  Mr. Scott has served the Aledo community as a Deacon and Home Group Leader for Christ Chapel Bible Church, West Campus, as the Co-Chair of the Bearcat Growth Committee (2019 school bond), Board Member of the Aledo Youth Football and Cheer Association, and youth sports coach in football, basketball and baseball.

Jim and Heather are high-school sweethearts and have two Bearcats – Sean (class of 2027) and Blanton (class of 2031).
