Skyward Family Access

As our district has continued to grow, we have outgrown the capabilities of our previous student information system, Ascender. Beginning this school year, Aledo ISD is excited to transition to Skyward, a trusted and widely used student information system utilized by school districts across Texas and the nation.

Skyward Family Access replaces the Ascender Parent Portal, providing parents and guardians with a convenient, secure way to stay connected to their child's attendance, schedules, grades, and more—all in one place. Students in grades 6-12 will use the same app to view their schedules and grades.

We appreciate your patience and partnership as we make this transition. We are confident that Skyward Family Access will provide an improved experience for families and make it easier than ever to stay informed and engaged in your child's education.

Getting Started

Getting connected is easy!

  1. You should receive an email soon from no-reply@aledoisd.org with the subject line "Family Access Account Information." This email will include your Skyward Family Access username and a link to create your password. If you don't see the email, please check your spam or junk folder.
  2. Set your password by clicking the link in the email.
  3. Download the Skyward Mobile App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store using the links below.
  4. Create a 4-digit PIN if prompted. You may choose any 4-digit PIN you would like to use for quick access to the Skyward mobile app.
  5. When prompted to locate your organization, search for Aledo and select Aledo ISD from the search results.
  6. Enter an account description when prompted. This can be anything you'd like (for example, "Aledo ISD" or "Family Access") and is simply used to help identify your account within the app.
  7. Sign in to the app using your Skyward Family Access username (which is included in the email mentioned above) and the password you created.
  8. Click the green "Continue in App" button if prompted.
  9. You're all set! Once school begins, you'll be able to use Skyward Family Access to view your student's attendance, schedules, grades, assignments, and other important information throughout the school year.

Reporting Student Absences

Beginning this school year, parents and guardians will also use Skyward Family Access to submit student absence requests.

To submit an absence request:

  1. Select the student for whom you are requesting the absence.
  2. Tap the Attendance icon.
  3. Select the Absence Requests tab.
  4. Tap the green + Add Absence Request button.
  5. Enter the date(s) of the absence and provide the requested details.
  6. If applicable, attach supporting documentation, such as a doctor's note.
  7. Tap Save at the top of the screen to submit your request.

After you submit your request, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to the district's Attendance Matters website, where you can learn more about attendance procedures and documentation requirements.

If your student's healthcare provider determines that it is medically infeasible for your student to attend school for multiple consecutive days, please ask the provider to complete the Serious/Life-Threatening Medical Condition form and return it to your campus attendance clerk.
