Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kay Carriker
Welcome to Dyslexia Class! My name is Kay Carriker. I have been teaching for about 30 years. I graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1982 with a degree in Psychology and then received my reading certification from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1989. I teach students with dyselxia at three different campuses. I am at Vandagriff Elementary from 7:45 - 9:30 a.m. My conference period is from 9:30 until 10:20 a.m. I am usuallyl at McAnally Intermediate during this time. I teach a dyslexia class from 10:20 to 11:06 at McAnally. I then travel to Aledo Middle School to finish my day. I am there from 11:45 until 3:20 daily. My lunch period is from 12:48 until 1:12 p.m. If i can be of assistance to you in any way, please feel free to contact me at 817-441-8347 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, please remember that your child should be reading 10 to 15 minutes every night. Learning Ally is a great tool to use. Books can be read to them through this application and they can follow along. I believe most students should know how to log on, but if they don't it is usually their first and last name (no spaces all lower case) and their lunch number. Some students might log on with just their first initial, last name, and then lunch number. If you need help with this, please let me know.
