Mrs. Lendy Nicholson
My name is Lendy Nicholson and I will be your child’s 3rd grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. I am thrilled to be starting my 15th year in Aledo ISD! For 13 years I was a teacher at Stuard Elementary. It was an honor being a part of opening Walsh Elementary last year. I know that this will be another great year of learning and growing as Walsh Cats!
I am a graudate of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. My certification is in elementary education grades 1-8, Social Studies grades 1-8 and ESL grades 1-8. I am beginning my 21st year of teaching. I spent the first two years with Fort Worth ISD at I. M. Terrell Elementary. From there I moved to Arlington ISD and spent 4 years at Johns Elementary. Over the course of the past 20 years, I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and been an ESL pullout teacher for students in 3rd through 6th grade.
On a more personal note, my husband and I live in Weatherford with our three kids. Zachary is an 8th grader and Daniel is a 7th grader at Aledo Middle School. Our daughter, Kendall, is a proud 4th grader at Walsh. If we are not at school, we are running to the soccer field, football field, band activities, church…and we love every minute of it! ☺
Teaching is something that has been in my blood since I was a very little girl. I can remember setting up my stuffed animals to play “school.” Teaching and being a teacher became a calling on my life very early. This calling penetrates to the very core of my soul. Nothing gives me more joy than to watch and listen as children explore and learn about the world around them. Thank you for entrusting your child to me this year. I will do my very best to make sure that 4th grade is a great year for them! I look forward to working with each of you this year. If there is anything I can do to help you or your family, please don’t hesitate to call.
