Hello and Welcome to Algebra 1!
Even though the delivery has changed drastically over these past few weeks, the concepts and the goals to prepare students for the next level and lifelong learning remain the same. I hope to help alleviate some of the stress of At-Home-Learning while we all navigate this new temporary normal together. Please feel free to email me at email@example.com with any questions you may have over the next few weeks.
I have linked some helpful resources for additional support. TI is currently offering a 6 month free download of their calculators for any student who may not have access to one at this time. Also, the site Desmos allows you to use a graphing calculator and is very hands on and user friendly. Lastly, Khan academy is a site that we used for assignments weekly, but it can also be used to view videos to understand concepts. You can serach any topic and find videos, practice problems and step-by-step help is all offered through Khan Academy's website.
We will be using Google Classroom through the month of April to submit assignments, participate in discussion boards, and deliver key information. Each student should be logged in to their corresponding class period's Google Classroom. Students should also already be signed up for Khan Academy according to their class period as well. Most students are already signed up for weekly announcements through Remind, but if not text the number 81010 with the message @hfe3ke Students and parents can both join.
I hope this helps answers some questions and I look forward to working with you all during this time,
My office hours are from 4:00-5:00pm
