Welcome to Kindergarten!! My name is Sunshine Barry & I am married to Coach Chad Barry, who teaches & coaches at Aledo High School. We have 2 children, Grace & Grant. Student Arrival. Morning activity, parent notes, lunch count and transportation changes are addressed. Morning Announcements.
Students will be practicing phonics, reading, and writing activities in a fun way.

Calendar/Math/BUILD Stations
We will learn math and language skills in context of our calendar.
The teacher will provide math lessons to the whole group. Then, students will practice math skills individually and with partners.

Students will sharpen the saw by playing outside and working on social skills and gross motor skills.

Specials
Students will attend special classes on a rotating basis. This is also teacher’s conference period.

Shared reading with Big Book and Word Study/Phonics
Students will practice different reading and word study & phonics skills.

Guided Reading and Literacy Stations
This is a chance for teacher to pull small reading groups and provide reading instruction at each student’s individual ability. THe students not meeting with the teacher will be practicing literacy skills individually or with a partner.

Interactive Read Aloud and Independent Reading/RTI
Students will participate in interactive reading activities. Students will be reading books from their book baggies and independently practice reading skills. The teacher will be reading with students individually or in small groups.

Writing Workshop
The teacher will provide writing mini lessons so that students can learn the mechanics and conventions of writing. The teacher will also provide activities that will guide the students as they make meaning in their illustrations and writing process..

Afternoon Recess

Students will learn science content during this time. Students will also be engaged in hands on Science exploration and activities.
