Welcome to Mrs. Shoptaw's Wise Owl Classroom! This is my 14th year of teaching overall, my 5th to teach First Grade, and my 10th year here at McCall. I am SO excited to meet your child!! I am so thankful for the opportunity to inspire your child's love for learning and be just a small part of their story. McCall is a very special place to be, I am so glad you are here! It is going to be an amazing year!

I grew up in a miltary family and traveled quite a bit, but my family settled in Fort Worth where I graduated from Crowley High School and thenwith a Bachelor and Master's degree from Texas Christian University. During my time at TCU, I met my wonderful husband, Britt, and we have been married for 27 years. We have 3 beautiful daughters, 2 dogs, and several cats. We dearly love our furry family members, too!

My oldest daughter, Sydney (22), will finish nursing school at University of Texas in Tyler this May. My daughter, Sarah (21), is a Senior at Abilene Christian University and will graduate in December. Last but not least, my youngest daughter, Sophie (18), will start her Freshman year at Stephen F. Austin (SFA) on August 23rd. So, we are beginning the season of "Empty Nesters", and I am not ready! Enjoy your little ones; they will be grown before you know it!

In addition to teaching, I love spending time with my family. We love traveling, eating out, going to movies, cheering on the Bearcats, and hanging out in our pool together. I also love to read (for fun) and scrapbook when I have some down time.

1:40-2:25 WIN (What I Need) & SNACK

2:25-3:00 Learning Centers

3:00 Pack Up and Clean

3:10 Dismissal

** My conference period is 9:25-10:10 each day, this is when I am available to meet with parents via telephone or WebEx.
