Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lesha Valencia
Hi! My name is Lesha Valencia! I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade Science and Social Studies this year and teaming with Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Mehrhoff! This is my 12th year of teaching. I taught 2nd grade for 3 years, and this is my 9th year to teach 3rd grade. I taught at Coder Elementary for my first year and then moved to McCall when it opened. I graduated from the University of North Texas where I was a Zeta Tau Alpha. I was born in Arlington, TX, but moved to Aledo in the 7th grade. I was a cheerleader for Aledo in middle school and high school. I also taught cheerleading and gymnastics for 8 years. I love cheerleading, singing, cooking, and crafting. I have a wonderful husband named Scott who works at Texas Air Systems in Irving. We built a house and moved to Roanoke, Texas, 2 years ago. We have a 1-year-old named Cole, and we are expecting a baby girl in December. Her name will be Kate. We have two dogs named Ace and Addie. I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends! I love teaching and inspiring kids everyday!
Two inspiring teaching quotes for me are:
"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget the way you made them feel!"
"The best teachers are the ones with the biggest hearts!"
