Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Elizabeth Garcia
I'm Elizabeth Garcia, GT specialist for the district! I have been a teacher since 2007 and am currently working on my Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership with an emphasis in Gifted Education. I have taught preschool, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and even middle school in Africa! I have 2 years of experience teaching at a gifted and talented magnet school, which inspired me to incorporate STEM and creativity into everyday life!
I grew up in Katy, Texas, where I was a GT student. I was a typical creative and sensitive kiddo back then and LOVED being in the Gifted and Talented program! My husband and I have been married for 11 years, and we have 3 amazing children: Emily and Charlotte (twins, 5th grade) and Lucy (2nd grade). We all self-identify as major nerds in the Garcia household.
I desire to bring enthusiasm and joy to our Aledo elementary schools. I am passionate about incorporating hands-on learning, STEM, research, and meaningful experiences into student learning. I recognize firsthand that gifted students have academic, social, and emotional needs that must be nurtured. I truly love my students like they are my own. I cannot wait to geek out with the best of the best in Aledo ISD! We are future world leaders!
