Hello Bearcats!

I am Mrs. Mann, the ESL teacher! I am so excited to be here at Walsh Elementary in the amazing Aledo ISD! 

In ESL (English as a Second Language) Class, we will be focusing on developing proficiency in the English language. That means we will get to do all sorts of fun, engaging, and interactive activities! ESL is all about learning English- no matter what your home language happens to be! We celebrate diversity and cherish opportunities to learn from each other. 

Allow me to tell you a little about myself. I graduated from Texas Tech University through the College of Education. My studies focused on teaching students who are learning English as a second language (ESL). After graduation, I taught a few years as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher before moving into the ESL role. My husband and I have two daughters. We have a miniature dachshund named Charlie and a turtle named Emma.

Here at Walsh, I will be serving any English learners who enroll- ranging from Kindergarten all the way up through 5th grade! ¡Soy la Sra. Mann, la maestra de ESL! ¡Estoy tan emocionado de estar aquí en Walsh Elementary en el increíble Aledo ISD!

En la clase de ESL (inglés como segundo idioma), nos enfocaremos en desarrollar el dominio del idioma inglés. ¡Eso significa que podremos hacer todo tipo de actividades divertidas, atractivas e interactivas! El ESL se trata de aprender inglés, sin importar cuál sea el idioma de su hogar. Celebramos la diversidad y apreciamos las oportunidades de aprender unos de otros.

Permíteme contarte un poco sobre mí. Me gradué de la universidad de Texas Tech University a través de la Facultad de Educación. Mis estudios se enfocaron en enseñar a estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés como segundo idioma (ESL). Después de graduarme, enseñé unos años como maestra de 3er y 4to grado antes de pasar al puesto de ESL. Mi esposo y yo tenemos dos hijas. Nuestra hija mayor va a primer grado y la otra a Pre-K. Tenemos un perro salchicha en miniatura llamado Charlie al que le encanta acurrucarse. Somos nuevos en el área de Aledo y estamos muy emocionados de estar aquí.

¡Aquí en Walsh, atenderé a cualquier estudiante de inglés que se inscriba, desde el jardín de infantes hasta el quinto grado! Animo a los padres que tengan preguntas sobre el programa o el progreso de su hijo que se comuniquen conmigo en cualquier momento.
