Mrs. Emily Pyeatt Arnold, CJE

My passion for storytelling began in my own high school photography, journalism, English and speech classes. While in college I worked for The Daily Nebraskan and became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. When not in the newsroom or darkroom, I could be found on the field as the National Champion mascots, Herbie Husker, and Lil’ Red.

This will be my 18th year teaching. I became a Certified Journalism Educator in 2014, and in 2015, I was named a Rising Star by the Journalism Education Association. I also enjoy teaching at journalism conventions and workshops across the country. I consider myself fortunate to witness students cultivate their own voices in my classes and throughout their lives.
