    • Talented photographer, Madeline Gavin, received Honorable Mention in the ATPI photography competition that was held this Spring. Way to represent Aledo Madeline!!

    • The ArtCats competed in the District Attorney Art Competition and Aledo High had several winners: Bradley Raettig  - not only won BEST OF SHOW, but he also walked away with a Scholarship to Weatherford College! Kiersten Hart won 1ST place in 2-D Art!! Emily Thomas won 3rd place in 2-D Art! A big congratulations to these talented artists and thank you to those who participated! 

    • AP students – if you have not attended a Preadministration session yet, you only have one more chance. Come by the cafeteria today starting at 2:10 to complete your paperwork.

    • Calling all improv-cats! The Aledo Players improv team wants YOU! We will be having a meeting tomorrow during Flex in the Auditorium. ALL are welcome! See you there! Gooooooo Cats!

    • McAnally, AMS, and AHS are teaming up to honor Jacob Harper with Make-a-Wish Day today.  AHS students will be allowed to wear a hat for $1 and all proceeds will be donated to Make-a-Wish. If you’d like to make a donation and wear your hat today, stop in front of the Counseling office to make your donation and get a sticker. We will also be accepting donations if community members would like to donate. 

    • Attention Seniors – Need a tux for Prom? The Men’s Wearhouse will be here tomorrow during lunches for tux fittings. This is a GREAT service! You just need $20 to start your order, you get fitted right here at school, your tux will be delivered to school on May 1st AND the Men’s Wearhouse will pick up your tux AT Prom.  TOMORROW is the last in school tux fitting, so be sure to stop by the Men’s Wearhouse table at lunch.
       
    • Leading ladies will be collecting prom dresses for individuals that cannot otherwise afford them. If you have a prom dress to donate please bring it to the counseling office. 

    • NAHS is sponsoring the Wildlife Art Show.  All students are invited to submit their wildlife art.  Turn in your Artwork to Mrs. Andrews or Mrs. Greenwood by April 23.  The show will be on April 24th and trophies will be awarded. 

    • Attention All Junie B. Jones fans! Did you love to read about Junie B’s adventures when you were little? Well, the fun doesn’t have to stop.  Our musical theatre students will be performing Junie B. Jones: the Musical on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 at 7 PM in the AHS auditorium.  Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults, so whether you bring an actual child or your own inner child, fun will be had by all! 

    • Please plan to attend the talent show on April 26th

    • FFA officer applications and FFA award applications for the FFA banquet are posted on the Aledo FFA Now website. Officer applications are due April 26 at 4:00 PM.  FFA Award applications are due tomorrow at 4:00 PM. Please turn in applications to Ms. Kelley or Ms. Holland. 

    • Come join the Aledo Jazz Bands for dinner, dessert, dancing and a chance to win some fabulous prizes at Swing Dance 2019 in the AHS Cafeteria on April 27th! All three Aledo Jazz bands will play along with special guests throughout the evening. Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm and the band will begin playing at 7:00 pm.  Advanced tickets may be purchased online at aledobandboosters.org . Ticket prices are $25 dinner ticket (advanced purchase) or $15 dessert only ticket (purchased at the door). Online ticket sales close April 20th, so get your tickets today! 

    • Do you like to Dance? Do you enjoy PERFORMING? Do you want to make lasting FRIENDSHIPS with other hardworking students? If so, then Aledo Colorguard is the place for you! High School auditions will be held at the High School Practice Gym on April 29th & 30th from 4:30 -7:30 pm. All students grades 8 – 11 are welcome! No experience necessary! 

    • Are you interested in tryout out for Mascot – Everyone LOVES the Bearcat!  If you want to help increase school spirit, make public appearances and have a desire to represent your school in a fun and exciting way - Please consider trying out for the mascot! Mascot tryouts will be held May 23rd at AHS – interested students will need to come sign up in the counseling office.
