Aledo ISD has a required Device Protection Plan for all 6^th-12^th graders who would like to check out a district Chromebook. 

For just $25, you can get FULL COVERAGE for your child’s district-issued Chromebook. This includes unlimited breakage incidents as well as theft protection coverage.  The Chromebook charger is not covered under this plan.  Please note that this is non-refundable and only applies to the current school year.

FAQs

What if I have multiple students who have checked out Chromebooks?

The cost will be $25 per district-issued Chromebook. In the InTouch system, you will need to select each of your students separately and complete the steps to add the Device Protection Plan to your cart before checking out.

What do I need to do if my student's district-issued Chromebook is damaged?

Take the Chromebook to your campus library and fill out an incident report. A loaner device will be issued until your Chromebook has been repaired. 

Does the Device Protection plan include coverage if I lose the district-issued Chromebook?
No. If the device is lost, then you will be charged the full amount ($250) to replace the Chromebook. However, theft coverage is included, but you must submit a police report.

How can my child get a Chromebook if one has not been issued?
Students can go to their district Launchpad page and enter a work order using the technology help desk system.

Are charging cords covered under the protection plan?

Unfortunately, no.
