What is Grad My Way?
Grad My Way is a flexible path to graduation at Aledo High School. It gives students more choice in how, when and where they learn - without changing Aledo’s high standards.
It’s a new way to think about your path to graduation.
Aledo ISD is starting small and plans to grow options over time - with student and parent feedback in mind.
More Choice • More Flexibility • An Education That Fits Your Life

We are extremely excited to introduce Aledo Grad My Way, a new flexible path to graduation for AHS students, starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
Grad My Way is a shift in mindset and a way for students to reenvision their path to graduation. Same rigor, same expectations, same excellence and standards, just more flexibility.
The major changes for flexibility for the 2026-27 school year include:
- Rising juniors and senior students who are eligible based on district-set academic standing prerequisites may choose to take up to two district-pre-approved Virtual Anywhere courses delivered through AISD’s higher education partners or online curriculum resource partner per semester that can be completed off campus or in a designated location at Aledo High School.
- Aledo ISD has also expanded its senior early release guidelines where seniors who meet specific college and career readiness requirements outlined by the district may qualify for a third off-period.
So, why are we doing this? We have continuously received feedback from students and parents that they desire more flexibility with how and where they learn. They need time - especially as they get closer to graduation. Time to work on SAT/college prep, for fine arts lessons or athletic training, for homework and studying, and/or for a job.
High school doesn’t look the same for everyone - and it shouldn’t - so Grad My Way lets students choose how they learn while still being a Bearcat. Feedback from parents and students, paired with some new flexibility that the state is giving school districts in options for instructional delivery, is why the time seems right now.
We are excited to offer this flexibility to our families and thank you for supporting our implementation of this new initiative.
Why Grad My Way?

High school isn’t one-size-fits-all. Students told us they need time:
- For homework & studying
- For college prep (SAT, scholarships, etc.)
- For jobs or internships
- For fine arts lessons and/or athletic training
Grad My Way was created to give students flexibility while keeping the same expectations for learning and success.
How this helps you

Grad My Way lets you:
- Personalize your schedule
- Balance school with real-life priorities
- Prepare for college, career, military, fine arts and/or athletics
- Stay connected to Aledo High School while learning in ways that work best for you
Flexibility Options
Based on academic eligibility
Virtual On Campus Courses

Virtual On Campus provides students with the flexibility of online learning while maintaining the structure and support of a classroom environment.
This model reflects Aledo ISD’s commitment to meeting students where they are while ensuring high expectations, strong relationships, and a focus on academic growth.
- Freshmen & Sophomores may take 1 Language other than English (LOTE) course
Virtual Anywhere Courses

Virtual Anywhere allows students to complete their learning online from any location, on or off campus. This option empowers students to take ownership of their education by managing time, pacing, and responsibilities in a way that fits their individual needs.
Through this flexible learning experience, Aledo ISD supports personalized pathways that encourage independence, responsibility, and preparation for college, career, and life.
- Juniors & Seniors may take up to 2 approved virtual courses per semester
- Completed off campus or in designated spaces at Aledo High School
Aledo Learning Center

The Aledo Learning Center provides a self-paced learning environment for students who are pursuing early graduation, behind on credits or needing credit recovery, or needing a non-traditional schedule due to work, family, or personal circumstances. Students will attend school in person for a half-day and complete all schoolwork online and self-paced with teacher support. Students at the Aledo Learning Center experience a more non-traditional high school environment with small groups and a shorter in-person schedule.
This model creates incredible flexibility for students to complete their high school coursework on their own time schedule, which is often accelerated as students graduate upon completion of all required credits.
At this time, ALC students do not have the ability to take Pre-AP, AP, Dual Credit, OnRamps or most CTE courses, and they cannot participate in UIL extracurricular activities.
Interested in the flexibility and unique learning environment of the ALC? Fill out this ALC Interest form and a counselor will reach out to you. Please fill out the form by June 1, 2026, for priority interest for the 2026-2027 school year. Filling out the ALC Interest form does not guarantee a spot in the ALC.
Off-Periods (Early Release)

Off Periods, also referred to as Early Release, provide students with dedicated time away from campus to focus on personal and academic priorities. Students may use this time for studying, completing coursework, preparing for college applications or standardized tests, or participating in extracurricular activities, jobs, or internships.
This opportunity reflects Aledo ISD’s belief in developing well-rounded students by supporting balance, responsibility, and real world readiness beyond the school day.
- Seniors who meet specific college and career readiness requirements outlined by the district may qualify for a 3rd off-period
