Dr. Susan Bohn

Superintendent

Dr. Susan K. Bohn has served as the Superintendent of Aledo ISD since June of 2018. Since her hiring, Dr. Bohn has prioritized establishing commitment to student academic growth, increasing opportunities for students, responding to the needs of staff, and building community trust.

Her belief that a high quality, well-rounded education inspires children to find what they love and be prepared for their adult lives drives her to support and sustain teaching and learning in a systemic way districtwide. The Aledo ISD Instructional Focus emphasizes the rigor and relevance of instruction, with an emphasis on best-practice teaching and learning expectations Pre-K through 12, across the district. Since Dr. Bohn has joined the district, programs offered for students in academics, advanced academics, career and technical education (CTE), fine arts, athletics, and extracurricular programs have all increased significantly and the district has been recognized at state and national levels as a leader in student access to and performance in advanced academics, CTE, and U.I.L competition (academic, fine arts, and athletics).

Kim Raymond

Deputy Superintendent

What I Do: 
Serves as a staff officer to the Superintendent, including, but not limited to, keeping the superintendent informed as to all financial, information services, facilities, operational and personnel issues, and status of the school system. Provides advice as to the appropriate use of all resources of the district and recommends changes in policy and practice. Directs activities of the district to be in compliance with law, policy, and regulations in a manner that ensures the optimal use of district assets.

Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Provide support for campus principals and other campus administrators to promote professional growth 
  • Oversee the Human Resources department in an effort to recruit and retain highly qualified staff as well as manage staffing at each campus  
  • Serve as a member of the District Safety and Security committee
  • Assist parents and staff through any Grievances or Complaints
  • Board Policy - updates, revisions, and implementation

Dr. Amber Crissey

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

What I do:
Provides direct leadership support to the Curriculum & Instruction Department, which includes oversight of teaching and learning systems in PK-12 Reading Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Instructional Technology.  

Areas of Responsibility:  

  • Support and monitor district-wide systems for teaching and learning
  • Supervise and support the Director of Assessment and Accountability
  • Supervise and support the District Instructional Coordinators in curriculum development, instructional material selection, job-embedded professional learning, and leadership.
  • Supervise and support the District Instructional Specialists in providing teacher support/coaching, job-embedded professional learning, leadership, and student support/intervention
  • Supervise and support Library & Media Services
  • Support and empower new teachers through New Teacher Academy
  • Support, build, and empower teacher leadership through the Teacher Leadership Cohort

Currently serves on the Texas ASCD Board of Directors

Dr. Ingia Saxton

Assistant Superintendent of Student & Community Programs

What I do:
Represents the district at school board meetings, community events and other meetings with stakeholders. Support and empower the leadership in the Student Services, Advanced Academics, Career & Technology Education, Fine Arts and Special Programs departments. Work with amazing staff in the district that oversees services ensuring that each student's needs are met, including: Special Education, Dyslexia, ESL, GT, CTE, Advanced Academics, and Fine Arts. The Student & Community Programs department collaborates with other district and campus teams to lead the development and implementation of student programs and community partnerships. Works with district and campus leaders on continuous improvement and local accountability through our District Wide Effectiveness and Improvement Committee (DWEIC). Partners with community stakeholders  in the ongoing development of programs and partnership opportunities including: after school programs, summer programs, and extended learning opportunities.

Serves as the financial advisor to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees and supervises a team that is responsible for most of the day-to-day business operations of the district.

What I do:
Promotes positive public relations between the school and community, prepares and provides information to the Aledo community, including students, staff, parents and other stakeholders, and serves as the public information officer and district spokesperson.

  • All districtwide communications, including emergency notifications; public information officer and district spokesperson
  • Aledo ISD website and social media channels
  • District videography and photography
  • Event planning
  • Design and printing of district publications
  • District marketing as well as Aledo "A" logo usage
