February 2025 Bearcats of Character Recognized

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees recognized this latest group of students named Bearcats of Character for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, February 17, 2025 for the character trait PRUDENCE.

Prudence means that you plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices. Prudence is the ability to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. It’s a future-oriented way of thinking that helps a person set goals, make plans, and have the discipline to accomplish them. It is cognitive – more a strength of the head than of the heart.

Congratulations to the following students, Aledo ISD's February 2025 Bearcats of Character!

He exemplifies prudence through his ability to make thoughtful, well-informed decisions that have a positive impact on everyone around him. His choices aren’t just based on what benefits him in the moment, but he takes into account the long-term effects on his friends, family, and even colleagues. Whether it's navigating tricky situations, offering advice, or leading by example, he always manages to choose the path that aligns with both practical wisdom and a genuine concern for others' well-being. His ability to remain calm and clear-headed in challenging circumstances allows him to see all angles and make decisions that create lasting benefits for those he cares about. A truly prudent individual, he inspires trust and confidence by consistently demonstrating that he knows how to make the right call, no matter the situation.

Hadley is a wonderful example of a pre-k student demonstrating prudence. She takes the extra time to think about her choices before acting on them. She wants to make sure that she and her friends are safe in the classroom, as well as, on the playground. Hadley also understands that her actions have an effect on others so she is always aware of how she treats her friends. I am so thankful that Hadley is in our classroom!

Annetta Elementary School: Kavanaugh Hulme, 1st grade
Kav uses reason and careful thinking to make good decisions. She is a great example to others regarding not jumping to conclusions or quick decisions. The careful everyday choices she makes now are sure to result in a bright future. We are so lucky to learn from her example!

McCall Elementary School: Hagen Holbrooks, 2nd grade
Hagen serves as a model of prudence because he always makes the right choices that are genuinely just in his good character. He is a model student who sets forth each week to start ahead on reaching and completing his goals in math and reading. He even does extra, optional homework when given and has already started practicing his multiplication facts because he knows he will get ahead for 3rd grade! He is a friend to all and well-liked by his peers because he can be counted on to set the bar high for being a great role model. Hagen will be fun to watch in the future in all his endeavors, both academically and athletically, because of his prepared mindset and strength of prudence.
