Brittany Smith has been named the Associate Principal of the Aledo ISD Early Childhood Academy.

Smith has spent the last two school years as the assistant principal at Annetta Elementary. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal in Birdville ISD - at Binion Elementary and at Holiday Heights Elementary. She also worked as a reading interventionist at Watauga Elementary and as a first-grade teacher at The Academy at C.F. Thomas, both in Birdville ISD.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Associate Principal at the Early Childhood Academy,” Smith said. “Early learning is the foundation for everything that follows, and I’m excited to support our students, staff and families as we create engaging and developmentally rich learning experiences for our youngest Bearcats.”

Smith has a bachelor’s from TCU and a master’s from Dallas Baptist University. Smith was raised in Parker County and attended Aledo ISD as a student.

“Mrs. Smith has been a valued member of our Bearcat Leadership Team for the last two years, and I am grateful that she’s stepping into this new role,” Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn said. “Having spent her entire educational career in elementary schools, she knows what it takes to prepare our youngest students for a successful start in kindergarten. The ECA has continued to grow, and we are excited to see where her leadership takes it next.”
