Aledo ISD has a history of success when a citizen-led committee works on behalf of our community to help the district plan and develop district facilities. In 2022, due to the fast growth of the district based on the most recent demographic reports at that time, a new growth committee, the Aledo Growth Committee (AGC), was formed to help construct the Aledo ISD 2023 Bond and a Long-Range Plan for growth across the district.

Help Shape the Future of Aledo ISD High Schools

The Aledo Growth Committee (AGC) is working with the district to explore what high school learning should look like for future generations of Aledo students. Rather than simply asking when a second high school will be built, the AGC is considering how Aledo ISD can design learning spaces that prepare students for the next 50+ years.

Two concepts are being developed: a College and Career Academy, which would provide advanced academics and career-focused opportunities for all high school students, and a second comprehensive high school, similar to Aledo High School but with modernized, flexible learning environments.

While no bond proposal is being planned, the AGC’s goal is to create conceptual designs for both options so the district is ready when growth demands new high school space.

The district invites the Aledo community to share feedback and help shape this vision. The deadline to provide feedback is 4 p.m. on Friday, November 21. Click the button above to share your thoughts.
