IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ALEDO ISD SUPERINTENDENT DR. BOHN

    Dear Bearcat Families,

We would like to inform our parents and community of helpful resources and information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and make you aware of measures we are taking to combat the potential spread of viruses.

The District maintains close communication with the Texas Department of State Health Services regarding any updates or information relevant to our families. Aledo ISD follows recommended guidelines for prevention, treatment, and school closure provided by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control. In the event that we receive critical information from the CDC or TDSHS that impacts our operations, we will communicate with you.

We are currently taking added preventive measures and implementing reinforced student messaging for students and staff on our campuses to help maintain the cleanest environment possible. Our campuses are being cleaned daily with hospital grade cleaners and custodial staff are diligently addressing common-touch areas. We are also closely monitoring levels of soap and hand sanitizers available to our students and staff on campus. Our school nurses are also reinforcing messages for students regarding regular hand-washing and other suggested behaviors listed below.

As we work to reinforce these preventive measures during the school day, please help us by sharing these messages with your children at home as we join with you in this partnership to keep them safe and healthy.

Below are helpful reminders and resources related to flu-like illness prevention as we approach spring break and with many who will be traveling.

    Helpful Reminders

    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

  • GPA Policy

    Books

Aledo ISD is considering changes to the policy which describes how we calculate Grade Point Average (GPA) and determine class rank for high school students. The proposed changes would phase-in with the class of 2025, current 6th grade students. Input from parents on the proposed changes is an important part of our process. Information about the proposed changes and an online survey to provide your feedback are available by clicking here.
