Dual Credit

Interested in Dual Credit?

  • If you are interested in taking Dual Credit courses, you will select them with our counselor at your course selection meeting.  Then, you will be responsible for completing the needed items to ensure you are ready for registration.  You will receive email communication, and will need to make sure you stay on top of completing these items on time!

    Dual Credit Overview from WC

First things first: Ensure that you are eligible for dual credit. Students must have a college-ready score on the SAT, ACT or TSIA2 to be eligible.

Scores are as follows: 480 on the EBRW on their SAT

ACT composite score of at least 23 and an English score of at least 19

or a 945 on the TSI with a 5 or higher on the essay (or a diagnostic score above a 5 and essay score of 5 or better.)

If you have not taken one of these tests yet, please make arrangements with Weatherford College to test for your TSIA2 ASAP!  Their testing center gives the TSI daily!  If you do not have this completed before May 7, you will not be eligible to take dual credit courses.

APPLY: You must apply to Weatherford College. You start this process by going to this website:  https://wc.elluciancrmrecruit.com/Apply/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fapply  and filling out an application to Weatherford College. Below is link to a video that walks you step-by-step how to fill out the application. You could watch this video and pause it as you apply!  It is not a difficult process but there are certain questions that must have specific answers!

If you have already met the college ready scores for testing, you will likely need to log into your College Board account and download a copy of your SAT/PSAT scores or get your TSI scores from Accuplacer and upload those into your Coyote Recruit application. If you are having difficulties with this process, you can reach out to Crystal Martinez cmartinez@aledoisd.org

Also, the dual credit website through Weatherford College is very helpful. They clearly outline these steps and provide contact information if you need help!
