2023 Student Wellness Survey

  • panorama educationThe Aledo ISD Student Wellness Survey conducted by Panorama will be given to all Aledo ISD 5th-12th graders the week of November 7. The Student Wellness Survey covers topics such as sense of belonging, social awareness, challenging feelings and positive feelings.

Why does Aledo ISD conduct student wellness surveys? Since the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown that saw students struggling with things like self confidence, anxiety, school work and wellness, we have used these surveys to better understand the needs of our students. From our surveys - along with taking feedback from students, teachers and parents - we have made some positive changes to things we do every day for our students. The response to the outcome of this survey has included starting our Bearcats of Character and Bearcat Ambassadors programs and our school counselors focusing on certain types of support for students.

Surveys will be emailed to student email addresses and completed at school during designated dates/times on each campus the week of November 6. You may review the questions below.

Parents/guardians may notify the district by 4 p.m. on Friday, October 20, if you would like to opt your child out of taking the survey by emailing communications@aledoisd.org with the following information (remember this is for students in grades 5-12 only):

    • Student's first and last name

    • Student's grade and campus

    • Student's ID number (lunch number)

If you have a question about the survey or what types of questions are asked, please review the survey questions below or reach out to your campus counselor.

Aledo ISD-Panorama Survey Information

  • Why does AISD survey students and how does the district use the information?
AISD surveys students, staff and parents to have access to feedback regarding the services provided by the district so that district and school leadership can better understand needed areas of improvement. District campuses and departments use the aggregate data collected in surveys to inform decisions in order to provide the best education possible for kids.

AISD surveys students about matters such as the climate and culture of their schools, their preferences for coursework, which foods they like best in the cafeteria, and their wellness.

    Privacy with online student surveys:
Individual student survey responses are not viewable by any AISD employee. However, individual student responses can be extracted by Panorama staff and shared with a student’s parents, upon request.

Student survey responses are stored on encrypted servers with Panorama for 5 years following completion of individual surveys. Panorama complies fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and student data is used only for educational purposes and is never shared or sold to any 3rd party entities.

    Survey question selection:
Panorama develops and rigorously tests survey questions for validity and reliability. The company has a body of evidence across various contexts and uses for each of their survey questions and is continually evaluating and testing validity and reliability. School district partners select the precise survey questions they wish to use so as to best meet the needs of the local community, the goals for length of the survey, and provide the nature of feedback being sought.
