Walking/Exercise Groups
Everyone knows that exercise is a great way to keep your body healthy. But evidence also supports that exercise is critical to keeping your mind healthy too. Exercise improves sleep, increases energy levels, and reduces stress. Time to move!
Start your own walking group or join one that already exists - it's a great way to exercise your mind and body.

Coloring Pages
We’ve known for generations that kids take well to coloring, but research on the benefits for adults is more recent. It is now believed that adult coloring has the ability to relax the fear center in the brain, the amygdala. Coloring can induce the same state as meditating by reducing restless thoughts, generating mindfulness and quietness in an otherwise overactive mind. Find virtual coloring pages here and here.

Retirement Savings Plans
For 403(b) Plan Information, click here.
A 403(b) is a retirement savings plan generally offered by public schools and other tax-exempt organizations that allows employees to make contributions on a pretax or Roth basis to help fill the retirement income gap. While your TRS pension may be enough to pay your expenses when you first retire, your reduced monthly income may not be enough to cover costs from factors like medical bills, taxes, or your desired standard of living. Please see the attached flyer for information regarding Aledo ISD's 403(b) provider. Click here for the RAMS 403(b) Savings Plan Flyer
For 457(b) FICA Alternative Plan Information, click here.
Aledo I.S.D. has implemented an IRC Section 3121 Social Security Alternative 457 Retirement Plan for all employees not eligible for TRS; including temporary, seasonal or part-time employees. Like TRS, the 457(b) plan has tax-advantaged benefits. Please see the attached flyers that summarize the information regarding this Plan.
