Ms. Mackenzie McLellan
Hello! My name is Mackenzie McLellan, and I teach ESL for grades 9-12. I strive to create a welcoming environment for our emergent bilingual students from their first days as a Bearcat to long after they feel comfortable in orange and black! I teach a class of newcomers to the English language as well as push in to the general English I-IV classrooms to provide linguistic scaffolding and supports to our students who are developing their proficiency in English.
Every student in our program is an asset to their classroom and community, and I enjoy helping to foster that confidence in students as they embrace their unique strengths. After all, there is only strength in diversity!
I am a graduate of Tarleton State University where I earned my B.A. in English and Literature and minored in Spanish. In 2012, I studied abroad in Pamplona, Spain where my passion for traveling and language flourished. After teaching English in the general and special education classrooms at Godley ISD, Fort Worth ISD, and Kennedale ISD for 5 years, I traveled back to Spain where I obtained my TEFL certification and lived in Madrid for a year. There I learned to teach English as a language to students aging from 4 years old to 64 years old.
I'm delighted to be a part of Aledo ISD serving students and parents at Aledo High School and Daniel Ninth Grade Campus.
