Bobby J Rigues
Bobby J Rigues has been a member of the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees since 2004. During his tenure, he has served as Vice President and President. Mr. Rigues is a 2009 graduate of the Leadership Texas Association of School Boards Master Trustee program.
He has served as a director for the North Texas Area Association of School Boards and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of School Boards. Mr. Rigues oversees a grassroots campaign known as Make Education a Priority under the non-profit organization, Friends of Texas Public Schools.
Through the National School Boards Association, Mr. Rigues has frequently participated as a judge for the American School Board Journal’s annual Magna Awards in Alexandria, Virginia. He continues his advocacy through newspaper commentaries, conference session presentations, social media, and public speaking engagements.
Advocacy honors include the LTASB’s 2010 Alumni Leadership Award and the Texas School Public Relations Association 2011 TSPRA Key Communicator Award. Civic recognition includes the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year and Man of the Year.
Mr. Rigues graduated from Castleberry High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University. He was an educator before opening his State Farm insurance agency. He and his wife Anita share five children. Britt and Cooper are Aledo ISD graduates and Peyton is a senior. Brody attends North Texas University. Cooper and Brendon attend Texas Tech University.
Mr. Rigues' term expires in May 2019.
