DOI Timeline

  • September 17: Communicate to School Board regarding Aledo ISD's pursuit of becoming a DOI

    October 15: Process begins with Public Hearing, Board appoints an Innovation Plan Committee

    November 15 to December 17: Post plan on the district website for at least 30 days

    November 16: Board notifies the Commissioner of intent to adopt plan

    January 9: District Committee holds a Public Hearing to consider and approve the final version with a majority vote

    February 19: Board of Trustees vote to approve/not approve the DOI plan, 2/3 majority vote is required for approval

    February 20: Notify the Commissioner
