Board Approves Hiring of New Aledo ISD Superintendent - April 27, 2018
The Aledo ISD School Board approved the hiring of Dr. Susan K. Bohn as the new Superintendent of the district.
Bohn's hiring became official at a Special Board meeting Friday morning. She will begin her new role on June 11. She has served as the Lockhart ISD Superintendent since 2015. Prior to Lockhart, she worked nine years in Lake Travis ISD as Interim Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and General Counsel.
"With the support of this special community, the leadership and staff of Aledo ISD have created something incredibly impressive," Dr. Bohn said. "I am grateful to the Board of Trustees for allowing me this opportunity, because I am thrilled and honored to join the Aledo ISD team.
"I look forward to listening to the students, staff, parents, trustees, and community members so I can understand how we can best work together in service to the children of our community. My family and I are beyond excited to become Bearcats and part of the Aledo ISD community!"
District Hosts Community/Staff Meet & Greet with Superintendent Lone Finalist - April 11, 2018
Aledo ISD hosted a Community/Staff welcome for Dr. Susan K. Bohn, the Superintendent Lone Finalist on Wednesday, April 11.
The event was held at the Aledo ISD Administration building. It was a great turnout as the community welcomed Dr. Bohn and her family to Bearcat Country. Bohn has been the Superintendent in Lockhart ISD since 2015.
Board Approves Superintendent Lone Finalist - April 5, 2018
The Aledo ISD School Board has named Dr. Susan Bohn as the lone finalist for the district’s Superintendent position.
The Board unanimously approved Bohn during a Special Board meeting held Thursday, April 5. By state law, the Board must wait 21 days before a contract can be offered and the hiring is official.
Bohn has served as the Superintendent of Lockhart Independent School District since 2015. Prior to Lockhart, she worked nine years in Lake Travis ISD as Interim Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and General Counsel.

Board Schedules Second Round of Candidate Interviews - March 29, 2018
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees will conduct a second round of interviews with Superintendent candidates next week.
The Board will hold Special Meetings on Monday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 4 to interview the candidates during Executive Session. Both meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in the Aledo ISD Board Room, located at 1008 Bailey Ranch Road.
The Board interviewed six candidates this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The new Superintendent will replace Dr. Derek Citty, who announced his retirement in November after 34 years in public education and the last five in Aledo ISD.
Board Selects Six Superintendent Candidates to Interview - March 22, 2018

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met on March 21 during a Special Board meeting to discuss the 38 applicants who applied for the Superintendent’s position. The Board selected six candidates to interview March 27-28. Each candidate brings a highly-qualified skill set and background to lead the district going forward in all areas of student learning and achievement, finance, growth, personnel and community engagement.
From the pool of the six candidate interviews, it is anticipated to have follow-up interviews the week of April 2.

Aledo ISD is seeking a superintendent who is a strong, ethical and moral leader who will build trust with the school board, staff and community. The superintendent must have the ability to lead and motivate all stakeholders toward a common vision.
Being a strong communicator who acknowledges the need for honest feedback and input from students, staff and community is vital. The superintendent must also be a visible leader who is involved in student activities and the community.
The strengths of Aledo ISD and the Aledo community include a strong tradition and pride in preserving the “spirit of Aledo” as the district and community experiences growth. The strong sense of community and parent involvement and support contribute to the district’s high academic standards. Quality staff ensure that students succeed not only in the classroom but also in the many organizations and extra-curricular activities.
Aledo is comprised of multiple communities all of which are experiencing steady growth. The new superintendent will need to strategically manage all communities’ interests by seeking honest feedback and building trust between all stakeholders.
