Aledo Reads @ Home
We are excited to announce that Aledo ISD will be launching a summer reading initiative beginning June 1!
* Aledo Reads at Home will celebrate students that read for fun this summer.
* Aledo Reads at Home is designed to prevent the
"summer slide" by encouraging and motivating our students to read books of their choice throughout the summer.
* AISD has developed a list of fiction and non-fiction titles by grade level for students and families that like suggestions of high-interest texts. (See link below)
* In an effort to encourage and promote summer reading, we have developed a student choice-board below filled with fun activities to complete after reading a book. Once students finish reading a book and complete a response activity of their choice, they can submit their activity to the district to be entered for a chance to win prizes throughout the summer. (the submission form is also in the link below)
2020-21 Student Ambassador Program
8th graders, if you've ever been the new student in school, you know how hard it is to walk into a building filled with strangers! The 9th-grade campus is looking for outgoing, energetic students with excellent speaking skills to be Student Ambassadors next year. Ambassadors will lead campus tours and help to make new students feel welcome. This is an opportunity to make a difference for others and is a great experience to include on a college or work application! If you are interested in being a part of the program, please click the link below to learn more. Applications must be completed by June 5, 2020.
Summer Online Acceleration Courses with TxVSN
Aledo ISD is excited to offer summer school courses for the summer of 2020 through the Texas Virtual School Network. TxVSN offers accredited high school courses to supplement regular instructional programs. The course available will be for original credit, not re-taking classes that have previously been taken.
