Mr. Taylor
I am Mr. Taylor the 5th grade science teacher at Walsh Elementary. Every 5th grader will spend some part of each academic day with me, and I look forward to getting to know all of my students and their families as the year moves forward.
Although I grew up in South Fort Worth, I graduated from ALedo High School. After leaving Bearcat Country, I attended Texas Wesleyan University where I earned my B.S. in Communication in 2000. The next four years I spent on active duty in the United States Air Force as an Electronic Warfare Systems Specialist stationed in Mississippi, Italy, and Utah. It was here that I began tutoring and mentoring in local schools and discovered that teaching and education might be my calling.
I began my teaching career following military service. Prior to coming to Walsh , I primarily taught 3rd grade ELA and 5th grade science and social studies at Lily B. Clayton Elementary School in Fort Worth ISD. This experience was very special as I attended Lily B. Clayton from K-5th grade and had the pleasure of working alongside my former teachers. I have been the 5th grade science teacher at Walsh since 2018.
My wife, Kristen, and I are both teachers. We moved to Aledo in October 2017 and love it. We have two children: John and Paris, and one grandson, Alexander. We love to travel together, and I play bass and guitar and enjoy trivia games of all kinds.
