  • Start with Hello Start With Hello Week- September 21-25

Start With Hello Week raises awareness about social isolation and educates students and the community on how to prevent it by teaching empathy and empowering students to end social isolation by following three easy steps.

To promote the importance of connecting with peers we will be creating opportunities for some fun.  In addition to a schoolwide challenge of getting to know one new classmate, looking for instances of peers reaching out and helping others, and some great discussions we will have some dress up days to promote the idea that we are all one Vandagriff family.

    Monday, Sept. 21-HEY DAY!

Students will decorate and wear name tags and encourage all to say hello using everyone’s name. These will be made at school.

    Tuesday, Sept. 22-TIE-DYE TUESDAY!

Wear tie-dyed, or mismatched clothing to show support of peaceful and kind friendships that include all!

Wednesday, Sept. 23-WEAR YOUR FAVORITE SHIRT WEDNESDAY!

Encourage new conversations today by asking each other about their favorite shirts!

    Thursday, Sept. 24-HAWAIIAN DAY!

Wear a Hawaiian shirt or bright colors and say ALOHA to all you encounter today

Friday, Sept. 25- Wear Bearcat Gear
