Aledo Reads At Home is a summer reading initiative to prevent the summer slide by encouraging students to read books of their choice throughout the summer. AISD has developed a list of fiction and non-fiction titles by grade level for students and families who would like suggestions of high-interest texts by grade level. After a student reads a book, he/she can 1) complete a choice board activity and then 2) submit the activity to the district to be entered for a chance to win prizes throughout the summer. If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1st, it is time to register him/her for kindergarten! Click on this link and then follow the directions on the page. Doors open at 7:15 a.m. each morning. At 7:30 a.m., all students are released to their classrooms. Students should be unpacked, in their seats, and ready to learn by 7:40 a.m. Students are dismissed from school at 3:00 p.m. Dismissal changes after 1:30 p.m. will NOT be accepted.
